Annabelle is a reportedly haunted Raggedy Ann doll that became infamous after paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren intervened in 1970. According to the Warrens, the doll exhibited disturbing behavior when it was owned by a nursing student named Donna. A psychic medium allegedly communicated with the doll and claimed it was inhabited by the spirit of a deceased girl named Annabelle
Despite attempts to care for the doll, Donna and her roommate experienced increasingly alarming events, prompting the Warrens to take possession of it. They deemed the doll to be demonically possessed and placed it in a protective glass case at their Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut, where it remained until the museum’s closure in 2019
